Ryan was very happy about the surprise getaway Annie planned, so he thanked her. However, when Ryan professed his gratefulness, he called Annie 'Kendall' by mistake. Annie looked dismayed as Ryan realized his error. Ryan laughed about the mistake, and claimed it was innocent. Annie still seemed uncomfortable, but eventually eased up. Then, Annie and Ryan made love in the stables. Afterwards, Ryan told Annie that he loved her and wanted to make a baby. Annie replied that she too wanted a baby, but thought they should wait. Ryan agreed and fell asleep. Meanwhile, Richie was desperate to find a suitable donor for his bone marrow transplant. Richie broke into Wildwind, where Emma was staying. Richie stood over Emma as she slept. Richie stated that because Annie would not help him, the little girl was his last chance. Richie was about to steal Emma from her bed and take her to a doctor in Mexico when Annie called. Annie said that she would get tested. Richie was satisfied and left Wildwind without Emma.

Tad was pleasantly surprised to see his old friend, Angie Hubbard, in the lobby of the Pine Valley Inn. Tad and Angie exchanged hugs and smiles. Then, Tad introduced Krystal as his wife. Angie and Tad had kept in touch while Angie was out of town, so Angie had already known about Tad and Krystal having a baby together. However, Angie was shocked to hear that they got married so suddenly. Tad said it was too long of a story to explain. Then, they heard screams from the bar. They rushed in to find Zach strangling Adam. After Zach finally released his chokehold, Adam fainted. Angie ran to Adam's side and helped him recover. Then, Angie told Colby that she knew her mother, Liza, in high school. Meanwhile, Zach abruptly left the hotel. Adam urged someone to call the police, but everyone refused because they felt Adam deserved Zach's wrath. Then, Angie got a call from Joe asking her to come to the hospital quickly, so Tad drove her. Krystal then sat down with Adam. Krystal assumed that Adam goaded Zach into strangling him. Adam feigned innocence. Adam then inquired why Krystal did not take him up on his offer to leave Tad in exchange for information on Kate's whereabouts. Krystal stated that Adam would never learn his lesson. Krystal did not want to be with a man that would keep a father and daughter apart out of spite. Then, Krystal stormed off and Colby entered. Colby was hurt that Adam used her, but still cared enough to go home with him.

Kendall was worried about Zach and went to search for him. Greenlee told Aidan to help Kendall. However, Kendall and Aidan could not find Zach, so they went to Greenlee's penthouse. When they got there, they received a message from Greenlee stating that she might know where Zach was. Kendall was annoyed that Greenlee did not say where Zach might be. Then, Kendall wondered if Zach and Greenlee made the same mistake that she and Aidan made. Aidan was skeptical, but Kendall was very suspicious that Zach and Greenlee had an affair in the bomb shelter. Meanwhile, Greenlee found Zach and comforted him. Greenlee advised Zach to go home to his family because they would mend all of his wounds. Then, Greenlee got a terrible pain in her stomach. Greenlee admitted that this was not the first time she felt this pain. Zach wanted to take Greenlee to the hospital, but Greenlee resisted. Greenlee feared that she might die if she went to the hospital.

Quentin overheard Joe tell Julia that Dr. Hubbard was coming to Pine Valley Hospital. This prompted Quentin to try to leave the premises. Luckily, Julia caught Quentin, because as he tried to leave, he had a terrible attack. So, Julia put Quentin back into his bed as he began seizing. Joe administered medicine to stabilize the difficult patient. Joe knew that Quentin needed a cure soon because he did not have much time left. Meanwhile, Tad and Angie were in the car on their way to the hospital. Angie apologized for missing Dixie's funeral. Tad did not want to talk about it. Angie understood because her husband, Jesse died many years ago. Angie said that no one would replace Jesse, so she eventually stopped trying at romance. Then, Tad and Angie arrived at the hospital. Joe greeted Angie and, before Joe could stop her, Angie went into Quentin's room. Angie gasped when she saw the patient and called him "Frankie." Angie then hugged the patient as he called her "Momma."

Aidan doesn't believe that Greenlee and Zach slept together, but Kendall says it is the only logical explanation for their sudden closeness. Kendall asks Aidan if it would bother him if she were right. Aidan says he would not be upset if Zach and Greenlee made love in the shelter. When Kendall doubts she would be that understanding, Aidan calls her a hypocrite. Kendall says the affair with Aidan was physical, but his attachment to Greenlee is emotional. Aidan thinks Kendall is worried that once again, Greenlee will go after her man as she has done so many times in the past. Kendall says her fears have nothing to do with some petty rivalry between herself and Greenlee. Aidan sounds annoyed as he says he's tired of Kendall not being able to trust anyone. He suggests they go for a walk to help Kendall clear her head.

Zach tells Greenlee not to worry about her health because many people need her. To stop Greenlee's shivers, Zach throws his jacket around her shoulders. Greenlee tells Zach he's not half bad. Greenlee and Zach agree that they sometimes miss the bomb shelter because it was a chance to escape from the outside world. Greenlee says they should want to talk to their significant others about the experience, but find it easier to talk to each other. Zach urges Greenlee to tell Aidan she is not feeling well, and perhaps she should go to the hospital. Thinking she will get better in time, Greenlee refuses to seek medical treatment,. As a compromise, Greenlee agrees to let Zach take her home. Once Greenlee and Zach arrive at the penthouse, Zach tries to reach Kendall, but has no luck. Zach starts a fire, wraps Greenlee in a blanket, and makes her a hot chocolate. Aidan and Kendall return from their walk. Kendall apologizes for being so mean to Aidan. Zach catches them hugging when he walks out the door. Kendall snaps at her husband for running off without notifying her where he was going. Aidan suggests they should be thankful for being together now. Kendall and Zach head out the door, giving Zach a chance to tell Kendall where Greenlee found him. Kendall says that she feels left out of Zach's life and reassures him he can tell her anything. Greenlee decides to tell Aidan that she is scared because she has not been getting better. She agrees to go to the hospital in the morning.

Despite Adam's manipulations, Colby decides to try to take care of her father as he ails with a sore throat. Adam still claims he wants to bury the hatchet with Krystal and Tad, but she does not believe him. She begs Adam to tell her the truth about his real reasons for throwing the party. Adam says he just wanted to show everyone that he and his company were back in business. Colby suspects Adam of making a big show to impress Krystal because he loves her. Adam snaps that Colby is now a part of Krystal and Tad's family, but she retorts that she is also a part of his family. Adam's problem is he can't accept two families, Colby adds. Colby decides to stay at the home with her father instead of going to Krystal and Tad's place.

Krystal goes to Pine Valley Hospital, but finds it hard to forget Adam's claims that he knows where Kate is. She decides to meet JR and hatch a plan to see if Adam is telling the truth. She lets JR in on the deal Adam offered her-either she marries him, or Tad will never know where Kate is. JR thinks it's a scheme, but Krystal says she would not come to him if she thought it was a complete lie. Krystal suggests JR move home, like Adam wants, to find out the truth. Krystal admits she has not told Tad about Adam's claims because if it were a lie, it would break Tad's heart. JR agrees to move back into the mansion to see if he can outsmart Adam.

Tad runs into his father at the hospital and asks about the patient Angie was called in to see. Joe updates Tad on Frankie's condition. Neither knew Angie would be treating her own son. Tad tells his father about his surprise wedding to Krystal. He says that he still thinks about Kate, and it saddens him that he won't be able to meet her. Not long after, he meets Krystal and they go home. JR calls his father to discuss a truce in person the next day.

Angie is distraught when she sees her son Quentin, or Frankie, in the hospital. She tells him that his medical charts indicate he has been suffering from seizures. Frank says the seizures, along with trouble swallowing, have been going on for months. He apologizes for worrying his mother, but said he needed some space. Angie scolds her son for leaving so abruptly without keeping in touch. Frankie asks about Cassandra, and Angie says she has been worried sick. Frankie begins having violent seizures and stops breathing. His mother is forced to perform a procedure to get him stabilized. Angie tells Julia to look at all the blood screenings of every patient with similar symptoms who has come through the hospital within the past year. She tells Julia that Frankie's middle name is Quentin before Julia leaves. Julia returns with the blood screens Angie asked for. Three patients, including Greenlee, had symptoms similar to Frankie's. Two of the cases were diagnosed and treated, while Greenlee's is still open. After Julia leaves, Angie sits by Frankie's side and holds his hand. She promises Frankie to find out what's wrong and fix it.

Ryan went to see Zach at his casino. They played a few friendly games of blackjack as Ryan pitched the idea of starting a charity to Zach. Zach agreed to match the amount that Ryan donated. However, this was not enough for Ryan. He wanted them to move to Africa for three months to help the charity, Doctors without Borders. Zach said no to the trip and Ryan became very agitated. Zach explained that it was not feasible to take the trip because they had families. Ryan accused Zach of thinking he was crazy. Zach denied this and Ryan calmed down. Zach advised his friend to slow down his plans.

Annie went to the hospital to get tested for Richie's bone marrow transplant. When Annie arrived, her brother greeted her with a hug. Annie pulled away and stated that all was not forgiven between them. Richie asked why his sister suddenly changed her mind about getting tested. Annie explained that Ryan had helped her change her mind. Ryan had said that because he got a second chance at life, others should too. Then, she divulged her other reason. Annie demanded that Richie sign a confession for all of his crimes in exchange for her bone marrow. The siblings exchanged glares as Richie refused to sign for fear that he would go back to prison. Then, a nurse informed Annie that it was time for her test. Annie said that she would not need the test and turned to leave. Richie immediately shouted for her to stay.

The guest for Erica's show, New Beginnings, was nowhere to be found. Just then, Jack showed up on set. Jack wanted to speak with Erica about an important matter. When Erica saw Jack, she decided that he would be her guest. He resisted, but she would not take no for an answer. On air, they discussed the obstacles that their family had faced recently. They declared that, despite the tears and turmoil, they were still good friends. After the show, Erica finally asked Jack why he came to speak with her. Jack said he did not have time to talk. Erica stated that they would talk over dinner that night. Erica then walked away before Jack could say yes or no to her dinner date.

Greenlee wanted to go to Fusion, but Aidan insisted that she go to the hospital instead. Angie greeted them when they arrived at Pine Valley Hospital. Angie explained that another patient, Frankie, had symptoms similar to Greenlee's. Then, they all went into Frankie's room. Aidan and Greenlee were surprised to see that Frankie was Quentin. They explained to Angie that Frankie and Greenlee inhabited the same property for a while. Angie wanted to test everyone that spent time on that property. First, Greenlee was tested. The test indicated that Greenlee was healthy, for the moment, but Angie wanted to prevent Greenlee from becoming ill like Frankie. So, Angie admitted her for observation. However, as Aidan called Zach to inform him about getting tested, Greenlee secretly left the hospital. Meanwhile, Angie sat by Frankie's side as he slept. With tears in her eyes, she vowed to find a cure for her son.

Kendall, Babe, Amanda, and Ava were at Fusion. Everyone was very busy working on the upcoming fashion show with Campbell's. As they worked, Amanda put on New Beginnings. Kendall was surprised to see that Jack was a guest. Kendall could tell that her mother was enjoying every minute she spent with Jack. After the show ended, the women began talking about ex spouses and boyfriends. Amanda claimed that once she ended a relationship, she never looked back. Babe thought breaking up was difficult, especially when children were involved. Then, they began to razz Kendall about all of her exes. They found it odd that Kendall maintained friendships with many of her exes. They used Ryan and Aidan as examples of this. When Kendall heard Aidan's name she tensed up and changed the subject. Then, an unknown woman entered the office. She wanted to see Kendall about her book, Charmed. Kendall was confused as to how the woman knew about her book. The stranger introduced herself as an editor and explained that Greenlee had sent her the manuscript. Her publishing company believed the book would be a huge success and wanted to print it as soon as possible. Kendall looked horrified and declared that the book could not be printed. She explained that it was a personal journal entry from when her husband went missing. The editor laughed because she assumed the book was about an affair. Then, the editor gave Kendall her business card and urged her to allow the book's publication. Soon after the editor left, Greenlee entered. Greenlee excitedly inquired if Kendall met the editor. Kendall seethed as she told Greenlee that she wanted to beat her with the book. Greenlee looked shocked.

Kendall scolds Greenlee for sending the book to the publisher without her permission. She says that the book was never meant to be read. Greenlee can't help but laugh at the situation because Kendall does not realize that she could become a true author. Kendall decides to stop being angry, and enjoy the possibility of becoming a well-known author. Also, the book could spawn new "Charmed" products. They toast the new project with one of Amanda's famous alcoholic beverages. Greenlee reads her favorite part in the book, but little does she know it is a description of Kendall and Aidan making love in the cabin.

Julia tells Zach that Greenlee left the hospital without the doctor's consent. She says Angie Hubbard is the doctor examining Greenlee's case. When Zach asks to speak to Angie, Julia says she has gone off to do some research. Julia shows up at ConFusion to bring Greenlee back to the hospital. She says that the illness Greenlee has contracted might be compromising her immune system. Greenlee takes one more sip from her martini glass, but struggles to swallow the drink. Julia calls the paramedics while Greenlee gasps that she is having trouble breathing.

Aidan takes Angie to the spot where Greenlee and Aidan were trapped. Angie says she is thankful Frankie was able to help Aidan find Greenlee and Zach. Aidan says he wouldn't have found them without Frankie's help. Angie says if they don't find Frankie soon, his illness may make his health decline rapidly. She asks Aidan if anything seemed out of place at the site. Aidan says he discovered some drug paraphernalia that could be tested at the hospital. Angie suggests they find Sylvester, the old man who used to live in the house. Aidan says he thinks that task is nearly impossible because the old man has disappeared. Zach shows up and offers to help Angie and Aidan. While Aidan checks on a lead, Zach picks up a pile of dead shrubbery that looks familiar. Angie hopes Frankie can identify the plant. Aidan returns, but has no news on Sylvester's location. He does not recognize the plant. Angie is devastated when she sees the camp Frankie called home while living in the woods. Angie looks through Frankie's belongings, but does not find any clues. Aidan gets word that Sylvester died from suffocation.

JR comes into the Chandler mansion, looking miserable as he prepares to hatch Krystal's plan. JR announces that he wants to move back into the house. Adam questions JR's motives for coming home after moving into a home beside Babe. JR accuses his father of never trusting him and threatens to leave. Adam gives JR a hug and welcomes him home. Adam boxes all of the alcohol and offers JR a job back at Chandler Enterprises. JR says that if he is going to share a roof with Adam, he needs to know that his father will not go after Tad. Adam retorts that Tad is not his father. JR says Tad is a part of his family, and has been through so much with the loss of Dixie and Kate. Adam suggests that Kate may turn up then leaves.

Josh approaches Ryan at ConFusion. Josh admits that Zach is concerned about Ryan's new business plans. Ryan appreciates the concern, but wants to give his money to the needy charities.

Babe is shocked to see boxes in front of JR's home. A mover tells her that JR has moved out, but claims he has no idea where JR's new home will be. After the mover takes the last box, Babe locks the door.

Annie agrees to see if she is a match for Richie's transplant as long as he signs a confession. Richie hastily signs the paper and hands it to Annie. Annie asks Richie how he will go on with his life is he is able to get the transplant. Richie's only plans are to survive, but Annie thinks he should use the opportunity to become a better person. Richie says he doesn't know how to change, and figures he is riding the train straight to hell. Annie hopes her brother can change, but does not expect much. After Annie leaves, Richie gets a call from Ryan. Ryan asks where Richie is, and rushes out of ConFusion when he learns that Richie is at the hospital. A nurse prepares Annie for testing to see if she is a possible donor for Richie. Ryan rushes into the room, thinking Richie tricked Annie into something. But to his surprise, Annie announces she made the decision to try to save Richie's life.

Krystal, Tad and Jenny enjoy a snowy day at the park. Tad asks Krystal how Babe is handling JR living across from her. Krystal says she hasn't talked to Babe lately. He tells Krystal about the unopened boxes sitting in the vacant house. Krystal suggests JR is still unpacking, but Tad thinks JR is getting ready to move out. Krystal says Tad might be right, and if so, they should support JR. Tad asks what Adam talked to Krystal about while they were locked in the lobby. Krystal says Adam figured she would go running back to him once he acquired Chandler Enterprises. But she says her home is with Tad and Jenny. JR calls Krystal to let her know that Adam has agreed to let him move back home.

Jack and Erica wrap up their impromptu session at the studio and head to dinner. She wants to talk about him coming back to the show full time, but he rejects the offer and tells her not to push. Instead, he pulls out some paperwork that shows her financial advisor purchased hundreds of stocks in her name for a company that was sold the following day, and tells her that she should be worried about what it means. Erica practically dismisses his concern until he stresses how serious the situation could be. She doesn't think that there is anything to worry about, but finally promises that she will get in touch with her advisor the next day. She laughs about his stoicism and tells him that not every situation has to end in a crisis. He tells her that he has reason to think that way and makes note of the tragedies they have suffered through as a family in the past few months. He then says that all he wants is to have a pleasant dinner, and she is taken aback by his request. She tells him that the man she fell in love with and married would never settle for something so tame. She says that she doesn't think he can ignore his passionate side, and asks if Julia has been responsible for lighting his fire as of late. Jack takes his turn to laugh, and informs her that she is the only one that thinks there is anything going on between him and Julia. Erica begs to differ as she reminds him of the look Julia had on her face when she rescued them from being locked in a closet together, but Jack assures her that there is nothing to worry about.

After Ryan bursts into the hospital room, Annie frantically tells her enraged husband that she came to the hospital on her own to get tested. Ryan doesn't believe it and his doubt is bolstered by Richie's inability to stay silent. His continued interjection of his opinions finally drives Ryan over the edge, causing him to twist his brother-in-law's arm behind his back and slam him up against a wall. Anne pleads with Ryan to release her brother, and when he finally does, she demands to know why he snapped. Ryan sits, deep in thought and somewhat defeated, and admits that he isn't sure. An orderly arrives at the room and asks if there is a need to call law enforcement, but Richie declines to press charges. He then decides to make himself scarce so that Annie and Ryan can talk, but not before thanking his sister again for coming in.

Once they are alone, Annie insists that Ryan needs to get checked out by the doctor again, in case there is something that is wrong. Ryan is sure that nothing was missed, but to appease his wife, he agrees to make an appointment for a different day. He tells her that this day, he has surprises lined up for her, and Annie can't help but to give into him. They go for a walk in the park and sit on a bench to talk. As Ryan finishes a hot dog, she apologizes for not telling him about being tested. He asks her why she hid it from him, and she admits that she wasn't sure that she was going to do it until she sat in the chair. She then shows him the signed confession that she got from her brother in exchange for submitting to the testing. She tells Ryan that the agreement is that Richie will leave town once he gets the transplant and they find out it's successful, but that the confession grants them a bit of insurance. Ryan is elated at her stroke of brilliance, and tells her that he will support her regardless of what she decides. He hops up and tells her that he needs another hot dog. She says that she will wait for him on the bench and when he gets out of earshot, she places a call to Joe. She leaves a voice mail saying that she needs to meet with him to discuss some concerns she has about Ryan.

Joe stops in to see Frankie and examine him, but is only there a few moments before Opal stops in for a visit. He allows her only a few minutes and reminds her that he doesn't want Frankie to do a lot of talking. Opal assures him there won't be a problem, so Joe takes his leave. Opal makes noises of familiarity and comfort, saying that Frankie would soon be fine again with a force like Angie on his side. She then pulls out a photo of his parents from when they were young that she found in her attic. She muses for a moment about how wonderful his parents were as a team before Joe rejoins them. She leaves the picture on Frankie's bedside table and departs, and Joe resumes his exam. He is interrupted as before, only this time by a nurse with an updated chart that reveals that the infection is attacking the young man's lungs and liver.

While out at the cabin, Angie receives a call that Sylvester, the former owner of the cabin, has died. When Angie asks, the caller relates the ailments that Sylvester suffered with before his passing. The symptoms sound alarmingly like what has been happening to Greenlee and Frankie. Aidan immediately tries to call Greenlee and is distressed when there is no answer. In the Fusion offices, Julia tries to keep Greenlee calm until the paramedics get there. Once the paramedics arrive, they check her vitals and do a quick assessment of her condition before preparing to get her into the ambulance. Once certain that her best friend is solidly in good hands, Kendall picks up Greenlee's phone and tells a worried Aidan what has happened. She instructs him to meet them at the hospital as soon as possible. They all arrive at the same time, and Angie immediately attends to Greenlee. She tells everyone to stay back but Aidan will not be sent away. He stays a few steps away so that the doctors can work, and they finally get Greenlee stabilized.

At the same time, Zach pulls Kendall aside and tells her that she needs to get tested to make sure she hadn't contracted the mysterious illness while out in the woods. Realizing how frightening he sounds, he starts to apologize and then has an epiphany about what the cause might be. As he runs off to check into his theory, Angie exits the room and briefly updates Kendall on Greenlee's condition before heading to her son's room. Kendall goes into the room, where Joe encourages her to get in touch with Jack, and suggests that Aidan can help by donating blood. Kendall does as asked but is frustrated when Jack doesn't answer. She eventually leaves a message and hopes he gets it sooner rather than later.

Zach heads to the lab and retrieves the plant that he brought in to be tested. He takes it to Frankie's room, introduces himself and then asks if Frankie recognized the vegetation. Slowly, Frankie nods, and then acknowledges that he dug up the plant while camping and cut it up to use in stew. He felt sick after ingesting it but thought it was the meat. Zach realizes that he has indeed found the connection, and runs out to fix the situation.

Angie shows up at Frankie's room and checks his charts, then asks Julia for the information they have so far about what killed Sylvester. She glances over the notes and then asks Julia to get in touch with the doctor that attended to his case so that she can speak with him. She then goes in to see her son and spots the gift that Opal left for him. Frankie wakes up, and they talk briefly about how much they miss Jesse. She decides that she needs to get back to work, and when she steps out into the hallway, Zach runs up to her and tells her what he has discovered about the plant. Once he does, she makes a frantic call to the lab and tells them she has a job she needs processed right away. She quickly hangs up the phone and they run the sample down.

At ConFusion, Babe runs into Amanda decide that they can tolerate sitting together for a little while and they reluctantly find two seats at the bar. Babe immediately starts to talk about work, and Amanda asks if that is the only safe ground that they have. Babe seems uncertain what she would want to talk about but Amanda is very clear that she wants to get what Babe did to JR and his father out into the open. They talk, caustically at first, but Babe finally caves when she realizes that Kendall was right to say that no one had the right to judge. Babe asks Amanda what she has done with her newfound wealth, and Amanda notes that, beyond the material things, she is taking care of her mother. Amanda talks about how much JR really hurt her; how she believed that once he worked his way through every other woman that caught his eye, he would finally find his way back to her. In the end, she realized that his indiscretions had nothing to do with her and everything to do with still being in love with his ex-wife. Babe insists that she had a weak moment when she slept with him, but she is much stronger now.

Amanda spots someone coming through the door and decides that now is a good time to test Babe's new resolve. Babe turns and sees Richie staring at her. Just as he approaches the duo, Amanda notes that he had been staring since he walked through the door. Amanda leaves so Richie and Babe can be alone, and he tells Babe about what happened at the hospital. He then asks her to stay and have dinner with him. She immediately starts to reject the offer, but he throws out a line about not wanting to disappoint a dying man. Somewhat amused, she asks him what he will do when he can't use the dying man card anymore? Instead of answering, he keeps working on her until he finally convinces her to stay. Over drinks, he tells her that Annie asked him what he planned on doing with his life if the transplant worked. He admits that the thought of having a rest of his life is scarier than dying.

Jack ends his dinner with Erica by giving her a kiss. After sending her on her way, he listens to his voice mail and finds out that his daughter is in the hospital. Back at the hospital, the results are back and they learn that the highly toxic plant is tannis root. They may be able to create an antidote from the plant that Zach brought in, but the clock is ticking.

Jesse arrives at the hospital and manages to visit his son without being detected by the more aware residents of Pine Valley.
